Default Fan Problem

I've tried everything, stopped all other program processes, run Guild Wars with the -dx8 and -noshading command lines, and nothing works, there is absolutely no way for me to keep my computer cooled. I'm running it on the lowest graphics settings you can do, everything either low or none. I checked my computer temperature, and whenever I run Guild Wars, it shoots up to 79-81 C. If I have Guild Wars minimized, it's 72 C....and if I'm not playing at all, it's 40 C. I don't know if there is a problem with my CPU, or it's just my hardware. I'm running on an Intel chipped Mac, with Nvidia GeForce 8600M GT, with 2 gigs of Ram, and a 140 gig hardrive, split into two 70 gig partitions. Maybe I should buy a cooling pad, I don't know. Anyone have any ideas on how to keep my computer cool while running Guild Wars like this?

The only reason it would heat up like that is your ambient temperature is too high.

If that's the problem, you'll just have to get a cooling pad.

Intel Macs are famous for running super hot when playing games in windows, I have one myself. You just have to accept it. I run all my settings maxed out, and the temp is the same as all settings lowest.

yes and on another note the latest nvidia's tend to run on the rather hot side (70 - 80 °c isn't uncommon for those) not much to do about it except than getting rivatuner and setting the fanspeed for the gfx card to max.

if that's not possible then yes the only option is to get a coolpad
